  11. I.      Introduction for Excel Progs
  12.  
  13.     Excel Progs is a small yet rapidly growing shareware development
  14.     organization whose members combined have decades of experience
  15.     in the computer industry.  While Excel Progs currently is
  16.     focusing on Windows applications, Excel Progs has also created
  17.     computer-independent .MID (Midi) songs and is always into new
  18.     ideas for computer products on all platforms.

  20. II.     Current Product Information:

  22.     o       Excel-FND
  23.  
  24.         Taking the classic "find-the-word" games to the next level,
  25.         Excel-FND is an audio and visually enhanced version of the
  26.         classic logic game for Win3.1+.  Easy to set up and play with 
  27.         its extensive help facilities, this program is sure to keep
  28.         you entertained for hours.  Lots of surprises are included in
  29.         this package, including letters dropping from the puzzle.
  30.         This version contains several puzzles; other puzzle-packs are
  31.         available from Excel Progs in groups of 75.

  33.     o       Caniprompts
  34.  
  35.         A trumpet player doing a wild dance... a sunrise over a series 
  36.         of mountains... no, this is NOT another .FLI animation, but 
  37.         what YOU can have over your boring old DOS prompt with 
  38.         CANIPROMPTS, a shell over your old DOS prompt giving it
  39.         new color, visibility, and life.  Be the talk of the town
  40.         (or at least the computer-user community).

  56.         Midi Machine V1.21 is a .MID/.WAV jukebox/file manager for Win 
  57.         3.1+ Midi Machine plays songs in many different ways:  random, 
  58.         shuffle, backwards, continuous, or combinations of the previous.  
  59.         Album Load/Save is supported, allowing you to listen to your 
  60.         favorite sounds all at once.  Auto-play after drag&drop sound 
  61.         selections from programs such as File Manager is supported.  
  62.         Icon animations "dance" to the sound of your favorite tunes - 
  63.         over a dozen are included with support for externals.  
  64.         Command-line options allow you to run your favorite albums 
  65.         and play modes at start-up.  There is mouse-sensitive help as 
  66.         well as an external text documentation file.

  68.         Midi Machine V1.21 is a state-of-the-art .MID/.WAV
  69.         player and file manager, combining many features
  70.         of other such players and adding unique features such
  71.         as icon animations "dancing" to the sound.

  75.         30 animated icons for Midi Machine V1.x, this pack
  76.         contains animations with a Christmas theme and our
  77.         "Notes and Staves."

  81.         30 animated icons for Midi Machine V1.x, this pack
  82.         contains a wide potpourri of icons, everything from
  83.         a coffee cup to moving fractals to fireworks.

  85.     o       MALEK1.MID (MIDI Song File)
  86.  
  87.         An alternative to the normal classical style.  Auxillary 
  88.         percussion (timpani, vibes, and bells) start the file in a 
  89.         very jarring motion, leading to a string and choir 
  90.         introduction and a temporary calming of the bass.  The bells 
  91.         return along with short bursts of the timpani. Vibes signal 
  92.         the introduction of a softer mode, and the piccolo takes a 
  93.         brief stint as soloist. Once again, auxillary percussion 
  94.         commences as the string dies down and the sound returns to its 
  95.         original state.  At last, the timpani beats a few dying notes 
  96.         and decays.

  98.     o       MALEK2.MID (MIDI Song File)
  99.  
  100.         This movement begins with a slight auxillary percussion base, 
  101.         with the New Age/Flute and Vibes alternating melody.  The 
  102.         melody begins to get higher and higher; a peak is reached and 
  103.         the base lowers.  Soon a running part is established by the 
  104.         clarinet/flute duet as the piece reflects beginning melodies.  
  105.         This reflection leads to the first climax as the SoundTrack FX 
  106.         rumbles in the bottom underneath the string melody.  The Choir 
  107.         takes the lead as the sound mellows. After its turn at solo, 
  108.         the flute running part begins again; the song reaches its final
  109.         climax and toms are beaten in the background.  The New Age 
  110.         penetrates the lower voices reaching higher and higher, breaks 
  111.         free, and decrescendoes to the end.

  113.     o       Excel-PWD V1.0
  114.     
  115.         Excel-PWD is a Windows application allowing you to create 
  116.         difficult passwords "on-the-fly" for usage on bulletin boards, 
  117.         Internet, or computer services.  You can create passwords of 
  118.         multiple types, depending on how long you wish the passwords 
  119.         can be and what characters the host system supports in the 
  120.         password.  Also included is an E-Text discussing why passwords 
  121.         are so extremely important in this day and age.

  123.     o       STI V1.1 (Studley The Icon      
  124.  
  125.         S.T.I. is described as "Your Personal Desktop Excercise
  126.         Motivator."  In plain English, Studley will try to motivate
  127.         you to exercise a little more.  While the iconized Studley
  128.         performs his helathy regiment of moves, why not join him!
  129.  
  130. III.    How to Become a Distributor Site
  131.  
  132.     Excel Progs is looking for more bulletin boards and information 
  133.     services to serve as distributor sites.  This works well for both 
  134.     parties:  Excel Progs is able to send its software to a larger 
  135.     audience, and your service has more to advertise about.  Your users 
  136.     know that the latest in Excel Progs utilities, songs, and games 
  137.     (coming soon!) can be found first on your service.  
  138.  
  139.     Excel Progs is accepting applications on the basis of "first come, 
  140.     first serve."  There will be one distributor site per county.  A 
  141.     "county" is described in this text as a place which holds a telephone 
  142.     connection to your service for the public (i.e., if you have a service
  143.     in Knox County (Knoxville, TN) which has an Anderson County (Oak Ridge,
  144.     TN) connect line open only to members, your site will be considered to
  145.     be an Knox Co. site ONLY.  If the line becomes public and no site has 
  146.     already appeared in Anderson Co., you will be considered to be a 
  147.     site for both counties.
  148.  
  149.     We are asking for services that have been up for at least a year, 
  150.     show promise of being up for much longer, and have potential for 
  151.     growth.  If your service goes down for a small period of time you 
  152.     will retain your site number when you return; in cases of serious
  153.     down-time the site number may be awarded to someone else.  Thus, it 
  154.     is imperative that if your service goes down for a time greater 
  155.     than a month or if it is to go down permanently that you immediately 
  156.     contact Andrew Malek of Excel Progs.
  157.  
  158.     We are looking for "family" services.  Note that this does not mean 
  159.     exclusively religious services, just those that don't cater 
  160.     exclusively to adult users.  This also does not exclude services that 
  161.     responsibly have adult sections hidden to the general public.
  162.  
  163.     We are looking for public domain/shareware/freeware/post-cardware/
  164.     ..etc services ONLY!  If you are a pirate site or hold ANY pirate 
  165.     files, then we appreciate you not applying.
  166.  
  167.     Excel Progs is new, and is currently an organization, not an 
  168.     official business.  As a new group, you have the opportunity to be 
  169.     one of the first to be a distributor site.  In the event Excel Progs 
  170.     formally is established as a business, your distributor site numbers 
  171.     shall be transfered in the proper ways, if necessary.

  173.     As a distributor site, you need to keep up with the newest Excel
  174.     Progs products.  We ask that you call The Other World BBS at least
  175.     once every 3-6 months, and, if you wish, in the meantime, acquire
  176.     all Excel Progs products at your convenience from sources such as 
  177.     CompuServe (C) and Internet FTP sites, where they are uploaded
  178.     on a semi-regular basis (Feel free to call The Other World BBS
  179.     as often as you wish...the 3-6 months is only a suggestion for
  180.     software acquisition).

  182.     Regarding The Other World BBS, you will receive an account 
  183.     and password regarding your formal confirmation (when you receive 
  184.     postal mail regarding the confirmation).  ALL Excel Progs files 
  185.     shall be on The Other World BBS in the file area EXCEPROG.  Just 
  186.     type /GO EXCELPROGS to access e-mail to Andrew Malek, the Excel 
  187.     Progs message area, and official file base.  You may download 
  188.     individual files or download the entire batch as EPALL.ZIP (all 
  189.     such downloads are free from time restrictions to ALL users!)  If
  190.     for some unknown reason The Other World ceases to exist, Excel Progs
  191.     will try all possible routes of establishing a new home board or
  192.     new methods of distributing its files.

  194.     To apply, simply print and fill out the form located near the end of 
  195.     this text and mail to the address specified.  Upon approval, you 
  196.     shall receive in the coming weeks your confirmation letter, number, 
  197.     and other information Excel Progs feels appropriate.
